According to the International Labour Organisation (ILO), around 40.3 million people are considered as slaves today worldwide. 24.9 million of them are enslaved in forced labour and the quarter are children. Several States, such as Australia, California, France and the UK have enacted obligations to tackle this modern slavery and human trafficking issue.
