The Proposition 65 law - the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 - applies to you if you either have customers or own a business in California.
This law requires providers to notify the consumer whether a product contains at least one chemical known to cause health issues (cancer, teratogenic defects, etc.). The list of these substances is continuously maintained and many of them are being used in electrical and electronic equipment. Compounds of cadmium, cobalt, mercury, nickel, lead or hexavalent chromium are good examples of these types of substances.
Enviropass assists you in both identifying the presence of substances in your products and marking your products accordingly.
